Breast cancer survivor tree lighting celebrations held in Powell and Harrogate
KNOXVILLE, TN (October 2, 2017) – Breast cancer survivors are invited to decorate Tennova Healthcare’s Breast Cancer Survivor Tree with a special ornament to honor them. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the tree will stand as a symbol of hope, strength and encouragement to those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The celebration will take place at two locations in East Tennessee:
October 2–31 (Mondays through Fridays) | 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
Tennova Cancer Center at North Knoxville Medical Center

Breast cancer survivors are invited to enter a drawing for a Tennessee-themed gift basket. A special gift will be presented to the first 100 survivors to help decorate the tree.

The Tennova Breast Center at North Knoxville Medical Center was recently granted three-year reaccreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program of the American College of Surgeons. Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. This summer, the Tennova Cancer Center at North Knoxville Medical Center also received three-year reaccreditation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons.
